Meet Our Team
Trusted. Relatable. Passion.
At Sheltrium, we care because we know too much to look away. Our team blends expertise in cutting-edge technology from Master's in NYU ITP, rigorous systems engineering, and direct ties to disaster relief networks. Together, we recognize that severe weather is no longer rare—and it hits hardest in communities beyond urban centers. That’s why we built Sheltrium: to combine expert insight with breakthrough technology and empower everyday people to face storms with confidence.

Why we care
Put simply, we care because we know too much.
Our first founder and CEO, Zoey, grew up in Alaska then worked intermittently on farms while getting her bachelor's in biology, which fed her deep respect for rural grittiness and the power of local land knowledge. Bryan, our CTO, has a habit of tackling complex issues from a systems perspective and was called to disaster response when it became clear it was the most dire problem of our future, and solvable with existing technology. The brain behind our human-centered design, Christie, empathized with the fear and overwhelm of having one's home destroyed in an instant so she is designing the future of dignified disaster preparation.
Together, we recognized that severe weather events are now inescapable and disastrous, and most dangerous for people outside urban centers. We came together around a shared observation - the most common ways of responding to disasters are short-term bandaids that end up fueling the underlying problem. So we asked disaster responders, emergency planners, FEMA researchers, and grid failure specialists how we can respond in ways that make future disasters less common, less dangerous and less expensive.
Sheltrium was born to answer that question - working on behalf of everyday Americans to combine expert advice with cutting edge technology and power the clean future of storm preparation one backup at a time.
